Your data, your choices.
Last updated: July 16, 2026
This policy explains what SoCal Fix It (“we”) collects, why, and the choices you have - including your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA.
Information we collect
- Information you give us - your email address if you subscribe to the newsletter.
- Automatic / usage data - with your consent, analytics and advertising measurement collect things like pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser, and referring links. Outbound affiliate clicks (
/go/…) are counted in aggregate. - Server logs - our host and Cloudflare keep standard security logs (IP address, request time) to operate and protect the site.
How we use it
- To run and secure the site.
- To send the newsletter you asked for (you can unsubscribe anytime).
- With consent, to understand what’s useful and to measure advertising.
We do not sell your data for money. Using advertising cookies may count as “sharing” under California law - you can opt out at any time (see below).
Cookies & your choices
We group cookies into three buckets:
- Strictly necessary - required for the site and your saved preferences. Always on.
- Analytics - aggregate usage stats. Off until you allow it.
- Marketing - advertising measurement. Off until you allow it.
Analytics and marketing cookies do not load until you consent via our banner. You can change your mind anytime: Your Privacy Choices.
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of “sale”/“sharing” and pre-set marketing to off automatically.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
California residents can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. Turning off Marketing in Your Privacy Choices is that opt-out. You don’t need an account, and we won’t discriminate against you for exercising this right.
Who we share data with
Only the service providers needed to run the site, each under their own privacy terms:
- Cloudflare - content delivery, security.
- Amazon Associates - when you click an affiliate link, Amazon handles that visit under its own policy.
- Email provider - to deliver the newsletter.
Your California rights
Subject to the CCPA/CPRA, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how it’s used.
- Delete personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
To make a request, use the contact method on our About page. We’ll verify and respond within the timeframes the law requires.
Data retention
We keep newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe. Analytics/ad data follows the providers’ retention settings. Security logs are kept only as long as needed to operate and protect the site.
Children
This site isn’t directed to children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We’ll update this page and the “last updated” date when this policy changes.
